SOS Children’s Villages in Zimbabwe recently hosted a successful fundraising golf tournament held at Royal Harare Golf Club, to support their mission of providing food and care for vulnerable children under their care. The event brought together golf enthusiasts, sponsors, and donors to raise funds for this important cause.

SOS Children’s Villages in Zimbabwe Board Chair Dr Nyamukapa expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support received, stating, “It is heart-warming to see the community come together to support our mission of providing a loving home and care for vulnerable children.” This sentiment was echoed by the SOS Children’s Villages in Zimbabwe National Director Addmore Makunura, who stated, “We are truly humbled by the generosity shown by our community in coming together to make a difference in the lives of these children.”

The funds raised from the tournament will go towards providing nutritious meals and other needs the children living in SOS Children’s Villages. Dr Nyamukapa emphasized the importance of events like these in ensuring that every child has access to a safe and nurturing environment, saying, “Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these children and give them hope for a brighter future.”

The event also raised awareness about the important work SOS Children’s Villages does in Zimbabwe, providing care and support for vulnerable children. The generosity of corporate sponsors like CABS was instrumental in the success of the tournament. A representative from Cabs expressed pride in supporting such a worthy cause, stating, “We believe that every child deserves a safe and loving home, and we are honoured to be able to contribute towards making that a reality for the children at SOS Children’s Villages.”

Furthermore, companies such as Minerva, Seef, Hyundai, Nissan Clover, Bata Shoe Company, Moonlight, Perennial Travels, and The Best Travel to mention a few also played a significant role in contributing towards the noble cause.  Redan Zimbabwe with a sizeable donation of assorted groceries, which they handed over during a prize giving ceremony, will go a long way in ensuring the children are taken care of. Their involvement, along with many other participants, highlighted the impact that can be made when the community comes together for a common goal.

As one participant put it, “It’s heart-warming to see so many people come together for the betterment of these children. It truly shows the impact we can make when we work together.” The success of the fundraising golf tournament serves as a testament to the power of collective action in creating lasting change for those most in need.
