Thanks to the support from SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe Family Strengthening Program (SOS CVZ FSP), the centre now boasts a state-of-the-art digital hub, equipped with laptops that are opening up a world of possibilities for the children and youth of Madziwa.

‘We have seen a remarkable change in the enthusiasm of the youth since the hub was established,’ says Mrs Ncube*, a dedicated staff member at the centre. ‘They are not just learning to use the laptops; they are exploring new worlds and possibilities. But the Madziwa Youth Friendly Centre is not stopping there. Recognizing the importance of addressing pressing social issues, the hub also hosts regular discussions on drug and substance abuse. These discussions provide a platform for young people to share their experiences, learn about the dangers of substance abuse, and find support in making positive life choices. Looking to the future, the centre has ambitious plans to expand its offerings even further. With a focus on attracting more girls to the hub, they are planning to introduce sewing machines and knitting tools. This expansion will provide girls with valuable vocational skills, ensuring they too have the opportunity to build a brighter future.
