Ms. Praise Mhishi

Ms. Praise Mhishi was seconded to the SOS Children’s Villages in Zimbabwe Board on 22 August 2022 as a representative of the Ministry of Public Service, Labour & Social Welfare.

Praise is a dedicated social development specialist and program coordinator with a strong commitment to improve the lives of the left behind communities, families and individuals.  She is excellent in program and organizational planning, with documented success overcoming challenges of limited resources and financial constraints to design high-quality, cost-effective and comprehensive service provision. Praise is skilled in building community support, key coalitions and strategic interagency partnerships and has proven knowledge and expertise in Sustainable Development Goals.


Praise has over 18 years experience in social welfare and is the National Social Development Officer in the Ministry. She is serving as a Humanitarian specialist under the Department of Social Development with the aim of ensuring that policies, programmes and implementing partners provide for the prevention and response to violence against children, protection of migrants, older persons and provision of services for families in distress.

Currently, Praise holds a Masters in Child Sensitive Social Policies from the Women’s University in Africa and a Bachelor of Social Work from University of Fort Hare. She was appointed to be a member of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework secretariat.
