DHL donated 7 computers and ICT accessories to Waterfalls Children’s Villages to provide access to technology for children in need and improve their learning opportunities.
On 28 Sepootember 2023, DHL presented the equipment to the Acting Family Care Coordinator, Richard Nyaruwanga at their offices in Harare.
“With the gift of the computers and other ICT accessories and equipment, we are supporting SOS Children’s Villages’ efforts to provide children and SOS families with new opportunities. The goal of this donation is to provide the necessary computer equipment for underprivileged children to achieve a quality education. ,” said Claudious Nyuke, on behalf of DHL IT Services Manager. “Everything we do at DHL serves one purpose: “Connecting People. Improving Lives.” This guides our efforts and sense of responsibility, underscores our values, focuses our mission, and creates long-term value” he concluded. With the constant effort of updating company technology, DHL recognized outgoing equipment from its business units had plenty of life left and was better repurposed than discarded.
On accepting the donation, the Acting Family Care Coordinator, Richard Nyaruwanga, expressed gratitude and highlighted that the computers would be installed in the Waterfalls Village computer hub for the benefit of the children under care. SOS Children’s Villages in Zimbabwe supports families and helps strengthen their ability to protect, educate and care for their children. The organization also works to provide protective environments and education for children and young adults who have lost family care, helping to improve their opportunities to lead an independent life.
