SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe is dedicated to providing support and resources to vulnerable children and families in our community. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of visitors from SOS Norway and Espira, who came to see firsthand the impact of our work. The visit was a timely reminder of the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving our mission.

We were thrilled to share the stories of our beneficiaries with the visitors. One of the highlights was a visit to Seke High 2, a school that we have supported with Income Generating resources like chicken rearing. With the income the school has started a uniform-making business, which is not only providing a valuable income stream but also giving students valuable skills such as entrepreneurship and paying for schools for vulnerable students. The enthusiasm and dedication of the students and teachers impressed us, and we were proud to see how our support has made a tangible difference in their lives.

We also visited Dreams CBO, a community-based organization that we have partnered with to provide support to vulnerable children and families. Their green house is a testament to their initiative and enthusiasm, producing fresh tomatoes and colourful peppers for the community. We were impressed by the level of sustainability and self-reliance that the organization has achieved, and we were proud to see how our support has helped them build their capacity.

In addition, we met Bill Ngome, a local entrepreneur who has received training and support from us. His tailoring business and printing skills on garments are a great example of how our support can help individuals turn their passions into viable careers. We were impressed by his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, and we were proud to see how our support has helped him achieve his goals.

As our visitors departed, we were filled with pride and gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many children and families. We are committed to continuing our work, providing support and resources that empower young lives to thrive. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, and we are working tirelessly to make that vision a reality.
